Cancún Vacation Review

My husband and I just got back from a 6 day, 5 night vacation in Cancun, Mexico. This is our second time visiting The Moon Palace Grand Resort. We have traveled quite a bit in the last 10 years - for which I am so grateful. The Moon Palace Grand resort REALLY sticks out to us as the best all around value for many reasons.

It's important to note there are three sections of The Moon Palace: Sunrise, Nizuc and The Grand. Both times we have stayed at The Grand so this review is about that resort for the most part. The total property is very large but we have walked from one end to the other and lived to tell about it. If you walk the beaches it can be a 1.0 mile to 1.5 mile walk. But lucky for my tired legs, they also provide golf cart and bus shuttles through the entire property.

The rooms are very nice and spacious. A lot of marble - so be careful with wet feet. And our favorite part is the large 2 person jacuzzi tub.

The all-inclusive resort is home to more than 15 restaurants and buffets. I'm here to tell you - I hate all-inclusive food. I've been so many places where the beach is beautiful, room is great, spa is lovely but the food is just awful. Not here. The Moon Palace Grand has it figured out. Some restraurants only take reservations so that can be a bit tricky (book 2 days in advance through Moon Palace App) but on nights we didn't have reservations we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the buffets.

This year we booked a couples massage and made use of the Awe Spa. What a treat that was. The massage was good but I wouldn't say anything we haven't experienced at home. However, the spa amenities were top notch. With the massage appointment we were able to access a heated pool, hot tub, steam sauna, dry sauna, cold room and much more. I could have stayed in there for hours pampering myself. I truly valued the staff helping guide me to each amenity and how to make best use.

We also loved the beach coconut bar where you could get fresh coconut water everyday. There was so much about the resort that we loved. I don't think I could fit it all in one blog post or email.

Did I mention the resort is only 10 minutes from the Cancún Airport? If you are considering a trip soon, put this on your list!

We booked through our Travel Agent - if you need her information let me know!

One more thing....if you need a ride from the airport or to explore one day.....reach out to Eli at Mayan Trails. Use the Facebook messenger feature from his website. Eli is responsive, safe and taught us a lot about the culture.
