A Lasik Review - 6 Months Post Procedure

It's been six months so I had Lasik Eye Surgery. And yes, I am very grateful I finally did it.

I had been thinking about getting Lasik done for more than 5 years before I went ahead and scheduled the procedure. I got serious about it in early 2020 and then the world shut down. But every year when I went to my annual eye check, I knew what was next. I would be buying another's year worth of contact lenses.

I was over the contacts. Due to my allergies, I had to wear dailies. This meant a new pair each day. There was always a fear that I would forget my contacts while traveling. Some days they just felt uncomfortable. And my biggest complaint - the cost.

I looked into Lasik because I viewed it as an investment. Pay now to have the procedure, but never pay for contacts again.

The procedure was uncomfortable. I won't sugar coat it. BUT it was so so so quick. If you are worried about the procedure, they will prescribe you something to calm you down. I went home and went to bed like they recommended. My eyes felt heavy. There was some discomfort. But by the next day, I was 90% recovered.

Within 2 days, my vision was clear and I had no more discomfort. The only thing that lingered for a couple months was dry eyes. They gave me eye drops to use for this common side effect and they helped.

Now at the 6 month mark, I feel great. I can see 20/20 and the dryness has improved greatly. It was a great investment in my opinion. It might sound silly, but there is so much freedom in not having to wear contacts or glasses.

I went to the Lasik Vision Institute in Bala Cynwyd. They typically run sales so if you check it out - ask about any sales they may have coming up! Happy to answer any questions too.
