I'll Never Buy a Peloton

I just want to be the first to admit: I probably said "I will never buy a Peloton" at least 50 times and then I bought one. Well, my husband bought it for me because I wouldn't stop talking about it.

Let me give you some background. I love working out. It's been a part of my recovery journey from the beginning. Getting a good sweat sesh in always makes me feel better. It's therapy. Working out truly makes me a better mom, wife and friend. Letting those endorphins fly is so important for my mental health, I depend on  it a couple times a week.

With that being said, my workouts have varied over the years. But one thing is for sure. I like working out with other people. I have done crossfit, running, Orangetheory, women only gym, HIIT workouts, barre, yoga and spin. I do better in a group coaching atmosphere then on my own. I always said, "I can't workout at home".

Then the world shut down in March 2020 and I had to pivot. I couldn't believe it but after only a few weeks in quarantine and I was doing YouTube workout videos in my living room. While I was doing them alone, I had a group text with friends that made it feel like a community. We would share which Sydney workouts we were doing and even did them together a few times.

When the world slowly started opening up, I went back to an in-person strength and conditioning gym. Felt great to be social and workout at the same time. But one by one, people around me started getting the Peloton. And I watched as they hit milestones, improved their physical and mental health and talked about it all over social media.

The gyms were open one minute and closed the next because of PA mandates. I felt like I needed something that was going to be consistent. I ran the numbers and realized the Peloton was the same price as I was paying for my gym membership. So like I told you, I talked about it non stop until my husband bought me one.

Don't tell anyone, but our Peloton was delivered ONE WEEK after we ordered. It was a miracle. Don't hate. I know thousands of people are waiting 8 weeks or more for theirs to arrive. We got extremely lucky.

The bike and Peloton App have transformed my workout routine and I couldn't be happier. The Peloton Community has a way of making you feel connected even though you are working out alone. I love the balance of cardio and strength. I love learning about the instructors and feeling connected to them through the screen. I love the option to hop on a barre or yoga class. I love the high fives, achievements and shout outs. Artist series are my jam!!!! Music is such an important part of my workouts and Peloton has not disappointed in that department. Gone are the days I am a victim to a coach's crappy music selection in the gym. With the Peloton, I get to choose the genre of music I am listening to.

Follow me at WeDoRecover2011. My favorite instructors so far are Cody, Kendall, Ally and Jess.

My favorite strength instructor is Adrian Williams.

Favorite rides so far include the Whitney Houston ride, P!nk Ride and Kendall's 45 min rides!

So grateful to have a Peloton and the community that comes with it! If you are purchasing a Peloton you can use code W7FGEC to get $100 off accessories purchased with the bike.

And I highly recommend this fan as well.
